Refund & Cancellation Policy

You can cancel a paid plan yourself at any time from your billing settings. You do not need to contact us, and there is nothing to negotiate.

• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You keep paid features until then.
• At the end of that period the Workspace reverts to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted when this happens.
• If your usage exceeds the Free plan limits after downgrading, existing data stays readable - you simply cannot create new resources until you are back within the limit.
• We do not automatically refund the remainder of a period you have already paid for when you cancel mid-term, except where this policy or the law says otherwise.

If you decide within fourteen (14) days of a payment that you do not want the plan, we will refund it. You do not have to explain why.

• The window runs from the date of the payment, and applies to a first purchase and to each renewal.
• For a renewal you did not intend, tell us and we will refund it - a forgotten subscription is exactly what this window is for.
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Paddle usually completes them within five to ten business days, depending on your bank.

The fourteen-day window is a floor, not a ceiling. We will also refund, on a pro-rata basis for the unused remainder of your term, where:

• we materially reduce a core security guarantee of your paid plan during a term you have already paid for;
• we terminate your account for a reason other than your breach of the Terms;
• you were charged in error, charged twice, or charged after cancelling;
• the Service was unavailable for a prolonged period in a way that made your plan unusable;
• a refund is required by the consumer law that applies to you. Nothing in this policy limits a statutory right.

Outside these cases we may decline a refund for a period you have already used - but we will tell you why, and you can take it up with us or with Paddle.

Either route works, and both reach a person:

• Go to paddle.net, the buyer portal run by our merchant of record. Look up your purchase with the email address you paid with and request a refund there. This is usually fastest, because Paddle holds the transaction.
• Or email support@shortspan.dev from the address on your account, telling us which payment you mean. We will pass it to Paddle and confirm when it is done.

We aim to answer refund requests within two business days. You will always get a decision in writing.

The Free plan costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund or cancel - you can stop using it, or delete your Workspace, at any time. Where we offer a trial, we will not charge you until the trial ends, and cancelling before it ends means no payment is taken at all.

Please contact us or Paddle first. A chargeback takes weeks, freezes the account while the bank investigates, and usually gets you your money more slowly than simply asking. We would rather refund you than argue with your bank.
